City Council Meeting
Tuesday, May 4, 2010
The
City Council of the City of Lake Village met in regular
session at 5:30 p.m. on the 4th of May, 2010. The

Mayor Bush called the meeting to order and welcomed the
guests. Council member Williamson opened the meeting with a
prayer.
Mayor Bush welcomed the two newest police officers of the Lake
Village Police Department: Calvin Frieson, Sr. and Charles
Steve McAlpin. Chief Wilburn introduced them to the Board.
Councilmember May made a motion to approve the minutes of the
last meeting and the expenses for the previous month.
Seconded by Angel. Motion carried.

Bank Signature Cards:
Angel made a motion to authorize the removal Linda Bawcom from
the bank signature cards at Simmons First Bank and the Bank of
Lake Village, and add Kayla M. Williams the City Clerk.
Seconded by Haddock. Motion carried. (Polled Voting Sheet
attached).
Equalization Board Member:
Mayor Bush notified the Board that it was time to renew or
reassign the appointment of equalization board member. All
were in agreement to re-appoint Zola Bullock who has held that
position for the past two years.
Overview/Tushek Building:
Mayor Bush made the plans for the Tushek building available
for review and updated the Board and made the board aware that
two grants are currently being pursued for the restoration of
the building, which are the Energy Efficiency & Conservation
Block Grant via State Dept. of Energy for $749,209.00, and the
Community Facilities Grant via USDA--Loan/Grant Combination
for $890,198.
Ambulance Committee:
Mayor Bush asked for volunteers for the appointment to the
Ambulance Committee: Jerald Williamson, Joe Dan Yee, and Sam
E. Angel volunteered.
Southeast Arkansas
Community Action/Lease Renewal:
Yee made a motion to authorize renewal and execution of the
lease with SEACAC. Seconded by Walker. Motion carried.

Mayors Reports:
a.
Mayor Bush reported that Judge Ball had responded to her
letter written in relation to the E-911 concerns and provided
the Board with a copy.
b.
Mayor Bush reported the results of the Airport Parallel
Taxiway Phase
III
Bid held April 15th,
the apparent low bidder was D&D from
Little Rock, AR but the bid has not been awarded yet.
c.
Mayor Bush reported that there
will be a 2010 IBLA Awards & Community Concert, Tuesday, May 4th
@
1:30 p.m. and
6:30 p.m. @
Lakeside
Public Schools.
d.
Mayor Bush reported that the
National Day of Prayer will be held, Thursday, May 6th,
12:20 p.m. - 12:40 p.m. @ the Rodney Angel Memorial Sports Complex.
e.
Mayor Bush reported that there
will be an USDA Rural Development, Affordable Housing Forum
held on Thursday, May 13th from
6 p.m.-8 p.m.
@ the Fire Station Community Room.
f.
Mayor Bush reported that there
will be an USDA –Police Car Presentation, Thursday, May 13th,
10:00 a.m. @ City Hall.
g.
Mayor Bush reported that the
Rural Services GIF $27,500—Grant presentation will be held at
the Courthouse on May 10th @11:00 a.m.
h.
Mayor Bush reported that the
City was awarded the SEADD GIF grant for $35,000 to renovate
bay area at the Armory.
i.
Mayor Bush reported that Parks &
Recreation were awarded a $1300 grant from the Giving Tree USA
& J. Austin White.

adjourn. Seconded by Williamson. Motion carried.
